PETITION FOR ASYLUM FOR EZIDIS IN IRAQ

Petition: Whereas the Islamic State or Daesh committed genocide against Ezidis in August 2014 and whereas it is five years later, and Ezidis are still displaced and living in camps and unfinished buildings with little hope of recovery, international protection, or self-defense, I wish to appeal to the international community for asylum.

Who can sign: You must be seeking asylum because of religious and ethnic persecution and genocide • be seeking asylum because of fear for your safety and future in Iraq • be an Iraqi citizen • be Ezidi • be age 16 or older • and live in Iraq. Each eligible person in a family should complete this petition.

Instructions: There are 29 short questions to collect information about you. The first six and the last two are required. Fill in as much information as possible in your first attempt. There is no chance to return and complete it later. This must be completed in English or in Arabic. Allow 15 to 30 minutes to complete this.

Before you begin: You will need your hawia ID number and the hawia number of your husband or wife and father or mother. You will also need your Facebook name in English or your Facebook profile ID number. This gives us a way to communicate with you. If you have applied with UNHCR or IOM, you will need your case file number. If you do not have an email address, we recommend you create one before you complete this petition for asylum.

This petition for asylum for Ezidis is sponsored by Amy L. Beam, author of The Last Yezidi Genocide.
